I know that pretty much everyone who has a labret piercing ends up destroying the gums on at least one - usually two - of their lower incisors. The only remedy is to have a minor surgical procedure to TRY to repair the damage once the individual gives up wearing the labret stud. In the worst cases, I've seen very young adults (like 20-22) come in with the tooth about to fall out and it's too late to save it.

Search using "lip piercing periodontal" as a search term and you will find over 2,000 articles documenting this destruction.

Don't get a labret piercing.

I have my lip pierced its virtical though so it doesn't mess with my teeth or gums i got it a little differnt then most though. Its a little further back in my mouth so i have a barbell in it (curved) and you can only see the top part of the barbell when i open my mouth so its not like sticking out all the time lol

Well I don't have mine done but it's not a very good thing to do from a dental field stand point. It can cause recession in the gums and cause extreme bone lose. It's really not a good idea
