This kid had every opportunity in the world to walk away. Seems he spent plenty of time on the net and at the movie theater alone. I am so confused!

NO I would never put any blame on Shawn but would love to go after that monster that snatched him away as an 11 year old. God knows what kind of pschological warfare this kid has been through during his kidnapping. What kind of a monster steals kids from their rural homes. I can only imagine what kind of absoute crap he put in his head about his family. I can only imagine that he probably did aweful aweful things to him. My heart goes out to Shawn and his family and I hope the healing can begin. Mental shackles and demons can be way harder to break away from than physical ones.

Your confused because you have never been in the situation. Do we know yet if this kidnapper was really good at brain washing Shawn into being so scared, he thought he best keep to the creeps wishes?
This man may of told this young man, at the age of 11 that he'd kill his whole family, or that he was his real father.
Once we know the whole story, we as other humans may understand it more.

Your not being a good human by placeing judgement on Shawn. He's so damned lucky to be one of the LUCKY missing children, that have lost their lives to real sicko's.

Grow up and stop trying to make a kid that has gone through this and his family through this a negative against the boy. Shame on you!!

I agree with Brian B. I'm sure that boy has suffered enough punishment in the last 4 1/2 years to last you and I a life time!!! Read up on Elizabeth Smart! A very similar situation!!!

If you're confused. Imagine Shawn's confusion. It's difficult to accept and/or understand someone's situation........UNTIL you've walked in their shoes.

That's because you don't understand what happens to a captive. You should read more and talk less.
