I am interested in wheather or not it seems right to charge for Zen teachings instead of asking for donations??

Thats a hard one. Ultimately I would contest that one should spread the Dharma whenever possible, but one also has to subsist. Perhaps the middle way would be a good choice and simply have a sliding scale, even if it's only pocket lint. That way you can assess each situation uniquely.

Doesn't seem to mesh with the Zen philosophy. Let the money come. Don't force it.

no it doesnt... that is clear otherwise you wouldnt be asking the question, neh?
whether or not it is right?
For zen? for you? for the teacher? hold on... "right"? what is this word "right"? Figure out what you think is "right". Then figure out why to think that. The dao is in both ways... stop struggling.

If you want a teacher of any subject, you pay. Teachers have the same expenses as the rest of us- - - no matter the subject.
Don't be a tight-wad, pay up.
