There are many pros and cons of the pill.

Some side effects can be heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, etc. but many of these aren't as prevelant as they once were. Most pills now are considered "low dose" (i.e. they are much lower in levels of hormones than they were when they initially were introduced) and incidents of these side effects have been greatly reduced over the years as the formulations change. Currently, there is little concern for a healthy non-smoking female using these pills.

It has been shown, however, that the pill decreases the risk of cancer to the ovaries and cancer of the endometrium, anemia caused by too much blood loss, reduction of benign cysts, etc.

The FDA's stance is that the benefits of the pill far outweight the side effects for most health females, but those who smoke, are at a high risk for heart disease and high blood pressure, and the obese not take the pill since all of these groups would put them in a higher risk category for the adverse side effects.

In the years of using the pill by the general population, I have yet to hear a huge problem over side effects cause by them, so I believe they are safe to use (assuming you aren't in one of the three groups above that shouldn't).

When the pill was first introduced in the 1960`s young women rushed to their doctors for a prescription, many didn`t investigate too thoroughly how dangerous it might be, especially as it was obtained from the doctor. For realistic results to be seen, it had to be used for 25 years plus. By then it was discovered that it could cause breast cancer strokes and various other things. The pill has been improved and altered over the years and now we are told that it as safe as it could be.It also must have stopped countless un wanted pregnancies over the years. But it is still a drug, which makes our body behave in an un-natural way, so we should always have this in mind.
The women who first took this pill are now in their 60`s and 70`s, how many women of this age have been adversely affected by the pill ?

that sucks..i don't be responsive to.. may be you would be able to desire to bypass without the pill for a month and notice if something adjustments? i could bypass with Maple Leaf's answer, ask a pharmacist or your gynecologist i've got been on the pill Yasmin for 5 years today (I would desire to for well being reasons) and that i haven't experienced any section effects, i've got been to quite a few gynecologists and that i've got been informed it exchange into the pill with the backside dose and the least section effects. its meant to be a great option for women who experience unfavorable effects from different oral contraceptives simply by fact it includes drospirenone, despite it is lol. greater advantageous to ask your well being care provider although wish u get greater advantageous!
