I am switching jobs and will lose my company car soon. i need to buy a car now. here are my problems

- i travel 750-1000 miles a week ( i do get paid for my mileage 13 cents) after 40 miles
- i get a $ 300 car allowance monthly
- i live in nj so car insurance rates are high.
- in the end i will be getting around $600-$650 a month for a car( note, insur, gas, maint)
- i dont want a chevy ( i had them as a company car and i hated them)
- i own a ford focus which i like and i had a sentra which i liked, but i live in the mountains and there is a lot of snow.
- hyundai tucson? i rented one and i loved it only it gets 22 mpg.
- is a hybrid worth the extra money for me to save on gas in the long run? ( and the envir.)

If you are requiring a AWD vehicle some choices to look at and test drive that would get some decent MPG:
Cars/crossover AWD vehicles:

Dodge Caliber AWD
Dodge Magnum/Charger/300 - AWD
Subaru WRX
Subaru Legacy
Subaru Forester
Ford Fusion AWD
Ford Freestyle AWD
Not sure if Toyota still makes the Matrix in AWD versions

Smaller SUV vehicles:
Ford Escape & Edge
Dodge Nitro
Chrysler Aspen
Toyota Rav 4
Honda CR-V
Nissan Murano

A hybrid vehicle would not save you much if you are driving a lot of highway miles. It is really only going to save you more money if you are doing a lot of stop and go traffic driving.

Nissan Murano, it gets 20/25mpg
Saturn Vue 22/27mpg
Toyota Highlander 22/27
Toyota Rav4 23./29
These are all 4X4 models, Economically speaking the most inexpensive would be the Saturn Vue, then the Rav4. Personally i would go with the Saturn Vue. for safety and cheaper insurance rates.

I personally do not like Subaru BUT they are all wheel drive and you will get better gas mileage than a SUV. If you don't want a Subaru I would go with a small SUV from Honda, Toyota or Mercedes has a small SUV too and I'm sure you could get one of those in 4 wheel drive. .Good luck and happy shopping!! :)

Go for the Hyundai Tucson, it is an award winning car, great value for the money and a nice warranty to back it up.
