It's called hand-me-downs, that happens in families. No it's not fair, but if your step-dad is paying for the phone (and the MINUTES) it was never "your" phone in the first place. Besides... be happy that you have a cellphone at all. I didn't get one until I went to college. And I still had a social life ;)

If it was a gift to you for a special occasion, than it wasn't fair. No present should be taken from anyone, but if it was just something he gave you to use than yeah, it's fair that your mom takes the new one. At least you HAVE a cell phone.

does your mom pay your phone bill every month?
You're right, in the short run that does not look fair at all.
You have to take into consideration that your mother may need a new phone more than you do for work, emergencies, and other things that may come up.
I suggest asking your mother to buy you a phone when her contract is up for renewal.
Either way, best of luck, and there is always AIM

No, that's not fair that your mom 's cell phone needed to be replaced. I'm confident your step dad will probably buy you another if you ask him.

That really is NOT fair. I think you should talk to both or one of them asking if you could have the phone because it was a gift from your step-dad. The phone was really sweet of him. It's cruel to take someone's gift away from them.

Not fair. Bad mommy. Tell your step-dad to do the do and get you another one. Be nice about it.
It sucks when you get a gift and them some1 takes it away. Not nice.

I'd just be happy that I got a free cell phone. Hey, I don't even have one and I've got an income! <*)))><

No, it's not fair. For a mother to take her child's gift ... is down-right selfishness, not to mention very greedy.

no, it's not fair. But welcome to life! And part of that is realizing that your parents can be selfish and unfair too. But, at least you have a cell phone and when you're older you can tell your therapist how your mother ruined your life.
