You can lead a Christian life and raise a Christian family, but you will be in error as we are told not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together. Remember we are not under law but under grace, going to church is not a have to, it is a get to. Also, birds of a feather flock together, you should want to go if you are really a believer. All the principles of Christian living are for our benefit. There are no good Christians, only saved sinners.

Yes.
I raised two Christian young men and we went to church only when they were young. As long as you teach them what God wants us to know and they read the bible or christian literature they can get to know God, and that is his goal.

Many churches now have become all about MONEY. I stopped going because they would call you if you did not come to church or ask you to pay your tithe of 15%. They keep tract of every penny you give and every penny you are not giving.
Sure I believe if we worship at church we should give to help keep the church in the black but when you see so much mis-management of monies you wonder.
God like us to worship with other Christians because he knows we will stay closer to him. We work and play with other Christins and have a good fellowship instead of hanging out with non-believers.
But anyone can be spiritual and Christian without church. Just read, study and live your life they way God tells us.

I became very upset with a Community Church (baptist based) in my former community. I found out money was being mis-managed and the pastors were getting paid big salaries and hanging around less. The administrator was sinful cheating on his wife (his girlfriend told me) and it was obvious. And he did not care. He also was a coach of my kids and treated them like dirt.
I found lots of sinners in that church, all people I used to look up to. Yes, sinners need to be in church, but NOT RUNNING THE CHURCH AND PREACHING TO ME.

I pulled out and told them I wont be coming back. I have learned more about God and his promise to us in these last four years through reading and study. Yes, some churches are terrific but others are nothing more than a den of thieves and sinners.

Possibly. However, going to church would offer you a great deal more help and unity and a deeper relationship with Christ. Get into a good bible based church and accept what Christ has in store for you.
Just because you asked this question indicated you are struggling over this. You don't have to anymore if you don't want to. God bless you

people are always saying that Church is the only way to be a christian and its not nessecary. Church is good for you when it comes to having others opinions about faith. But the your walk with christ is personal. You cant get saved by just going to church every week. Although you may not like this answer i hope it helps. may God bless you and everyone you love!

Being a christian has nothing to do with going to church. Church is only for them to make a mess of money off you. It does nothing else.

Yes....but Scripture is pretty clear:

Hebrews 10:25 (New American Standard Bible)

10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

No, as a christian church is an important place to meet other that God will used them to build my life, and God will use me to build their life. this is whu there is a church.
its not a place to hear a story then go back home.

if my children do not raise among these people from the same faith. how thier lief will be when they are with others people of faith.

the believe is something we live in, not a thoughts to be put in our heads.

It is possible to live a clean life away from church, but scipture teaches that we should not forget to assemble together. Jesus also commanded us to take communion in memory of him. We must go to church to recieve the bread and the wine.

Yes, judging from the majority of the church crowd, I'd say avoid it at all costs if you want to live a good life:)

One cannot have God for his Father, who will not have the Church for his Mother, and likewise, one cannot have the Word of God for his faith who will not have the Church for his teacher. It is the infallible teaching authority of the Church, as promised by Christ, which alone preserves God's Word from erroneous interpretation.
