There's no "cast in stone" set time for this, as every person is different. Although some only need four or five hours of sleep, others (like me) need at least 8 hours. My dad only sleeps 5 hours per night, yet he seems to have enough energy throughout the day, to complete his daily tasks.

An adult requires at least 8 to 9 hours to be well rested and a child could use up to 12 or more, just depending on their age.

Doctors say that this depends on the person. I, personally, need eight hours. My hubby only needs about 6. Children need more, like ten.

it depends on when you go to bed because sleep that you get before twelve oclock is a lot more restfull than after twelve but normally eight hours is good.
