For indepth information about Vista, go to Microsoft.com or to http://www.pcworld.com or other places like these for a full breakdown on Vista.
Vista is supposedly a very robust OS that allows you to do much more than previous Windows. Such as better Media creations (music, movies, etc), better track of what's going on in you PC (Administrative programs) and better performance.
So far, from what I have read, Vista is NOT the OS that MS is touting. First, it is a resource hog (as ALL Windows OSes have been since Windows 95), and it requires updated PC's to run at it's full capabilities.
To work XP to it's full aspects, you need at least 1 GB of RAM, a really good Video Card and a Dual Core CPU (or, at least a 64-bit CPU). The PC you purchase may only have the bare minimum for Vista to work, and if this is so, many features may not work until you upgrade the components I mentioned.

well done on installing vista,i have had the beta version for 6 months and plan a upgrade in the near future
the biggest difference in vista i have found is the appearence, such as the aero glass ,have you tried the 3d windows yet, while reading this look in the bottom left on the taskbar and it should be the middle icon, its a blue oblong icon, give this a click and it will turn all the windows in use into 3d
also there are speech recognition options in control panel and a much improved security interface, with windows defender included in the security set up
the only problem i have found is the lack of software and drivers, but vendors are slowly bringing out drivers, but not fast enough in my opinion
right click the desktop and then properties and you will find the new style display options, but the wallpapers included in vista are a bit lame
just take your time and discover the operating system, and a quick tip, install a bit of extra memory if you can, vista eats memory up like anything,i have 1.5gb on my system and it struggles so i recommend at least 2gb to run vista
good luck with your vista

Graphics, Security, Speed, Flexibility
After all what is an Operating System?
1. A way to get things done, the foundation
2. A standard for software people
3. A quicker you to work
4. A better way to have fun
Now that you have it you are the Ginny Pig to solve all the problems that will be fall you...
A persion should wait at least 1 year when a new OS comes out.
Have Fun!

No offense but nothing special other than you just downloaded a cheap version of Mac OS X. Not your fault, hon. It's the best Gates could do under the circumstances.

I do not see anything that is special with it, but it is power hungry. It requires 512 mb of ram compared to the 128 minimum required by XP. So it must be really good.
