i downloaded a movie and it's school of rock.avi
but it won't play in quicktime how can i get this movie to play?

well after i donwlaod anything, like the windows media player for mac. after it downloads its a white peace of paper on my desktop and i click on it and it says error movie can't play.

Use Windows Media Player for Macintosh.

It's 10x easier on a Mac than on a PC (Not counting any software you may put on the PC. Mac comes with lots of software to get you editing media fast.) The program you'll want is iMovie. You'll need to let us know what version you have and then the instructions will be more specific. Drag video files into the 'Clips' section then drag them from there to the project timeline. Play around with all the effects until you get a feel for it.

Download the media player VLC. It plays most formats of video including Quick-time. Don't download Windows Media Player. It is not supported my Microsoft anymore and thus is unstable. If you want a Player that just plays Windows Media Format get Flip4Mac.

Try a different media player........ other than that, you're stuffed.

go to Apple's site and look for plugins for quicktime that will allow it to play avi files.
