for you to believe in God? What would He have to do for you to consider His free gift?

It is clear to me, from just my limited studies of the three major western faiths - Judaism, Christianity, Islam - that you are putting the cart in front of the horse. The proper question: "What would it take for God to believe in me?" Answer: obedient love, above all. Often cited example: Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac.

His free gift comes with strings attached. You have to worship him and turn all control of your life over to him, admitting that you're just a child and don't know what's good for you without his guideance. That isn't "free" any more than the serfs in medieval Europe were free. Oh, and if you don't accept his free gift, then you're going to hell for all eternity, so you only have two choices - servitude and burning in everlasting fire. In times past, if you didn't accept his free gift you were actually killed for heresy.

And for your information, I happen to believe in God - just not your god.

Exist.

Nonexistence is a rather serious shortcoming on his part.

Why would you ask a question like that? It's just plain silly, and you know it. This kind of dishonestly doesn't convince anyone to believe in your gods, it makes you look bad, and it invites discord on the forum. Can't you at least make an effort to be an honest participant in the discussions?

He'd have to show up on my doorstep and prove to me that he is God.....like bringing an animal back to life or something in front of me. Then, I'll believe.

Alot more than a 2000 year old badly written book.

I expect it to appear for all to see so there was no doubt whatsoever of its existence. It isn't going to happen though is it.
