Experience it!! At my college three franciscan brothers came, and didn't know one word in Spanish. Now they know everything, and people here in Latin countries like to talk with others that don't speak our native language, and teach some of our words and pronunciation.
My advice: if you have the time and opportunity to go to a Latin country, don't hesitate, if you want to learn. Spanish is a beautiful language, but as English, you have to practice it and talk to others that can correct any of your mistakes!

go to a spanish speaking country or take some kind of spanish class or buy a program like rosetta stone to help you larn faster
