As so many unis are over subscribed GCSEs do play a slight part but not much. In a uni in London i know they want a Modern Foreign Language in GCSE to stop languages from being abolished in the education system. If everyone got A's in their a A levels then I suppose that GCSEs would play a part. Interviews are extremly important. Some one told me that a uni hopeful was asked in his interview to stimulate him by the interviewee. He set his newspaper on fire. Although personally i wouldnt have done that. Very risky.

GCSEs don't affect your university entrance. It's a point system based on A'level results... also at Oxford you can choose to sit an entrance exam and take an interview, instead of having entrance based on your A'levels.
Edited to add: Entrance examinations were abolished in 1996...! Shows how old I am.

hey.
it does play a major role in your choice of university. if it is a low score, top universities do have the chance of turning you down. you just have to give all your marks, points and hope for the best. if you do not try you will never know.

all A's in your a levels should mean that you will be fine to get into uni. Your GCSE;s dont count as much, but your GCSE results are pretty good anyway.
Best of luck

No, in certainty it is going to look greater useful. It shows the college that your are a committed guy or woman who places guidance as a extreme precedence, something that one and all universities discover surprisingly proper and carry an enormously extreme regard for. sturdy success.

At a top University, its what you say in the interview that will really count. They will want to see that you really can think for yourself.
Good luck. If you end up running the country, remember all of us who gave you good advice...
