First off Iraq hasn't gotten worst, maybe the media has portrayed it as getting worse but I assure you every time I go over there I get shot at less. The problem I do see is that the war is changing it is is difficult for the US to keep up with. It has gone from a conventional invasion to a guerrilla conflict, to a civil war, those three alone are hard enough to keep up with.
I hate to break the news to you but we will be in Iraq for a lot longer than 20 years. Like someone else said, look at Korea. Iraq will be a permanent duty station for our troops. Strategically it makes sense. My question to you, what have you done to help out, besides complain? I know the number to a Marine recruiters office if you want to help get our troops out faster.

You've partially answered your own question. The U.S. has already built a huge military complex in Iraq, plus they occupy the Green Zone. Plus they are brokering several oil deals. The U.S. has no intentions of leaving Iraq anytime soon. What we don't seem to understand is that U.S. contractors are already dug in, so to speak. They can't just stay there. The troops, mercenaries, foreign security forces are as much needed today as they are and will be twenty years from now.Of course some of the troops will come home over the next few years. but the plan is right before our eyes. The U.S. has no intentions of leaving Iraq. Period.

Hmmm, so what do you propose? Bring all the US troops home? How soon... tomorrow, next week, next month? And then what if Iraq descends into civil war as we leave? Are we then not responsible for that if it happens? I think going into Iraq was a mistake, but now we are there. Battlefields are fluid, and ever changing, you have to adjust as things change and do your best with the situation.

what's every physique here speaking approximately? have not we achieved sufficient for Iraq. we've overthrown their dictator, killed him, set up a democracy for them and nonetheless lots of them do not choose us there! Hell, in the event that they'd't get exhilaration from that, we don't would desire to be there. In Vietnam we did the precise same element, greater the type of troops in that section and what did it bring about? greater casualties. Casualties are not merely numbers, they each characterize lives misplaced, and huge people who's merely not seen or heard from returned. i'm sorry yet i don't experience the would desire to spoonfeed Iraq and police the international if it costs lives. that's pointless. in the event that they don't even choose Democracy, fantastic, that's their issue. If we rigidity it on them we contradicts the very element we objective for- Freedom. we would desire to enable Iraq guard Iraq for a at a similar time as and concentration on our very own issues as a exchange of being boastful sufficient to objective and guard others.

Iraq is getting worse because Bush is trying to please everyone. If we fought the war in Iraq like we fought WWII, with brutal intensity (like he implied we would at first, remember Shock and Awe?), Iraq could become a successful and prosperous nation. Instead, in Iraq, we have tried to be nice, but the bad guys don't seem to care, they still seem to think that they like us better dead. If we walk away now, they will know next time, if they keep fighting, eventually we will cry uncle and walk away. If we were to gird up our loins and exterminate the bad guys, even if it gets ugly and seems like war, the next time we face this enemy, they will know their only hope of survival is surrender.

Well, now that the democrats have come to execute a rapid extraction from Iraq, thus winning us the confidence of our enemies, Bush's approval rating should go back up.

What makes you think that Iraq is getting 'worse?'
Can you point out what measurable events are occurring in Iraq that support your claim?
Or have you been fooled by the media reporting?

OK here's how it works, Bush is stupid, we all know that. So the people who follow him must be really really stupid. See, it's that easy.
Jason, Bush can't fight the war like we did in WWII, it took a real man and leader to fight tht war, Bush is neither a real man nor is he a real leader, hence we have the mess in Iraq.
Even the new secretary of defense has said we're losing in Iraq...and these idiots on Yahoo are like, we're not losing...who told you that... it must be the media... Bush be keepin us safe...who said we losin...the dept of defense got the facts mixed up. LOL!
