I really want to SEW them, not knit or crochet-Love to sew and some of the knitted ones are irritating to the bald heads of cancer patients.

What a nice thought. You may find it helpful to check out some other organizations that make and/or provide hats to cancer patients and others who lose their hair due to medical problems:

It depends on the rules at that airport. It's classed as a head masking, if the law/ideas state "no head covering" then it ought to be eliminated. My drivers licence got here up for renewal even as I was once going via chemo, and that i had a bald image - on a drivers licence that's intended to final for 10 years! They had been kind ample to now not charge me once I asked for a alternative one 18 months later.

Good for you! I would go to a local fabric store and tell them your plan then ask them to donate patterns. As far as which fabrics are best why don't you go to an Oncology ward and ask the patients.

Call the cancer society or any of the chemo units at your local hospital they should be able to direct you in finding what you need.

make sure they are big enough too.. i know my good friend hated bandanas bcuz they weren't big enough to cover her whole head. i think all materials would work.... different materials for different occasions.. cottons, polyesters etc.. but you have a great idea.. maybe donate to churches and hospice nurses, they will know people who need them too

I commend you on your generosity.

I suggest you visit your local knitting / yarn stores. They can help you get started.
