I don't now but when I was at school they used to get recycled as itching powder. Have you ever had pencil shavings stuffed down your top, painful. Wasn't I naughty??

My grandmother used to put them in her garden to keep bugs away. Other than that, throw them away.

i have an open fire and they make great tinder. you could also put them on the compost heap
