i'm from the U.S.=) We've sold quite a few puppies over the internet, and we always require full payment plus shipping which has to be cleared before we ship the dog. This is necessary since some people have tried to take off with the dog and just conveniently forget to pay for it. But West Africa?? Caution..Also, the puppy HAS to have a clear health certificate signed by the breeder's vet before it can be shipped.

This sounds like a scam.
Go with a local breeder with a good reputation. OR look in the magazines called Dog Fancy. There are plenty of breeders there that advertise and look more ligit.
Also, check with your local Kennel Club and ask for referals to reputable breeders. Stay far away from this one.
And usually, if a breeder does ship an animal, I would assume it would be with an escourt and payment is exchanged there in person.

Don't do it!!! That situation sounds like a major scam.
Take the time to research local breeders if you must have a certain type of dog. Check with local vets, too.
But you know, there are hundreds of dogs in shelters that are every bit as good if not BETTER than a purebred dog.
Some area's also have purebred dog rescue organizations. Check that out, too.
Good luck!

Bad Idea!! Don't buy a puppy unless you see it in person first... I've learned the hard way! Just trust me... there is more harm than good attached to buying a puppy this way... if you even get your puppy, it could come with a mountain of health problems!! DON'T DO IT! Wait until you can find one in person.

Yes, we bought a dog over the internet (USA to Canada) and it requires a health certificate. Since it has all its vaccines, and a health certificate, it looks okay.
However, $250 is cheap for a Maltese, including shipping!
I used PAYPAL for payment.

As soon as I read "West Africa/Nigeria" I pegged this as a scam. If you have sent money do not expect to get what you paid for or a refund. If you haven't committed to this transaction then RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. It's definitely a scam. Run.

I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from anyone from Nigeria over the internet. I can practically guarantee that not only will this person take your $250 but anything else they can scam out of your account and you won't get anything.
Don't do it. I'm warning you....

No, I don't trust this person.
The cost for the puppy AND the shipping of it, alone, tells me that it is a scam.
Someone is trying to rip you off!
Get one closer to you, one that you can check out easily.
