Is it possible for a man to maintain fairly regular contact with a woman, have sex with her, tell her she's a good lover but that he only wants to be friends, nothing more. What does that mean? Does it mean that he doesn't really fancy her? In other words, can a man have sex with a women, and want to keep up that sexual relationship, but not actually fancy her? Why would he bother keeping in contact?

This sexual relationship has been going on for nearly 2 years. Does that make a difference? And sometimes he just texts or calls to see if i'm ok and check up on what i'm doing, so not always sexual.

Um YEAH! That is what guys do best, they keep a girl on the side for a sex buddy. So they can go out and look for hot girls at the bar and if they don't score they always have a back up to come home to and heal their wounds with.

THINK ABOUT THIS: why would someone buy a cow, when they can get the milk for free. You want a real relationship? Make sure it is just that before you jump into bed with him, and you wont have that problem.

You have to consider how men and women evolved. Women can only have a few kids. If they get pregnant from some loser, they are potentially stuck for years raising the kid. Women have a very high desire for 'good' sex (i.e sex with a very desireable partner) and a high aversion to 'mediocre' sex. Men evolved trying to get a lot of women pregnant. The risk for men in having sex with a 'undesireable' (i.e. from evolutionary standpoint, less healthy/fertile looking woman) is that in the 20 minutes afterwards, a better opportunity might come along and he'd still be in the refractory phase. Men have a high desire to have sex with the most attractive woman available. If the most attractive woman available happens to be somewhat unattractive, so be it. Note that men will NOT commit to an unattractive woman - if they're going to be with one woman, she better be special. But to invest the 20 minute refractory period ... not so high a standard. Different men will go 'down' the chain different ways. Some guys go 'hogging' - going after overweight girls, since they don't mind it so much. Other guys prefer a 'butterface'. As in 'she's got a good body but 'er face ....

The woman in question is being treated as nothing more than a warm jar of liver.
If this is, indeed, yourself you speak about, then - self-esteem check. You are being used by someone with very little self respect.
Find someone who YOU enjoy. Is the sex good or only ok? What are you getting out of the arrangement?
Write down a list of questions and answer them with your head and heart as honestly as you can. You will come to a conclusion that works for you.
good luck.

I think a man has to have an attraction to a female either by her boob size, shape, eye colour ect. This must happen because if a guy choose YOU its because you have something the other girls dont have.

SEX comes into it alot. But this only confuses matters, surely a man his worth his salt if he waits for the physical attraction to happen (SEX) this can be both mutual and enjoyable.

Men are hunters and gatherers to some extent and this also refers to "thier women". They see what they want and they take (or they would like to see it this way).

Hope this helps

it means that he only wants one thing from you only, and that is to bump uglies . a man does not have to be interested in a woman to have sex with her. so when a man says he wants to keep up the sexual relationship, but just stay "friends" he's not looking for a relationship, he only wants sex. basically it's friends with benefits.

being engaged in a sex act, can be from being a good conversationist or good sensual persuation in the part of a male perspective.

but basically, having consentual sex with women need not be that complicated. as long the opposite sex is liberal enough to handle conversations of these topics.

I sometimes wonder that about my husband. My physical appearance is not what it was years ago when we first go together. When I see fit bodies on women I wonder if he wishes I was like them. If I was a man I would not be attracted to a women with a body like mine.

Of course that is possible - that is a "friend w/benefits" and guys seem to really like to have those. I as a woman refuse to get into a situation like that - no benefits until we are mutually exclusive and care about each other.
