Here are a few programs that will do it for you. There is one here that will do it online for you. (I'm not sure whether that's a paid for service or whether it's free. Check the site.)

PDF to Word v3.0 - http://www.verypdf.com/pdf2word/ - costs $39.95 (US)
Solid Converter PDF v3 Professional - http://www.solidpdf.com/pdf/_to_word_converter_1/42 - costs $99.95 (US)
Solid Converter PDF v3 Standard - http://www.solidpdf.com/pdf/_to_word_converter_1/42 - costs $49.95 (US)
PDF2Word - http://www.pdf-word.com/ - This one does it online for you. You upload a file, and it gets converted for you.
PDF to Word - http://www.daolnwod.com/pdf_to_word_14497.htm - costs $39.95 (US)
PDF-to-Word - http://www.convert-in.com/pdf2word.htm - costs $29 (US)

I'm not sure whether it works with earlier versions of Adobe Reader, but I'm using version 8. In this you can highlight parts and copy and paste to Word.

In Adobe, click on Edit, then Select All. Then click on Edit and choose Copy. Now paste it into a Word or Text Document, and you can edit it. Chow

Under file, click on save as, text. Saves the files as text accessible- notepad. Then copy and paste the text from the notepad document into a word document for better formatting options.

Cumbersome but it works

There are many programs that do this. There is one called Solid Documents (http://www.solidpdf.com/), but it is quite expensive. There is a free convertor at http://www.primopdf.com/, but I do not know how good or reliable any of this software is. Also, there is an online converter at http://www.pdfonline.com/, which supposidly requires no download. The PDF is sent by email.

Good Luck
