I am wondering what a "money box" is ? Never heard of that expression.
I would give stock in a company. You can get into some companies with as little as $50.oo and there is no time like the present to get a start on the child's financial future.
I give stock for all the kids gifts and graduations as well... they get enough crap from everyone else, I rather give them something that will make them MORE money !!

It depends on how religious your/their family is. They usually have religious stores in major cities, you'll find lots of things there like books and wall hangings (cross) however if you don't want to go that route, jewelry is always another option, something like a chain with a cross. And if you are really not religious and the christening is more just because it's always been done, then talk to the parents and see if there is anything he needs.

I suggest a nice Bible engraved with his name. Or a cross or any religious charm. These are ideal gifts for a christening and they are something he can refer to for life.
