My period was due on Tuesday, Jan 9th. I usually am regular every 28 days. I ALWAYS have protected sex but am still scared I am pregnant. I took two pregnancy tests (EPT and First Response) on 2 days late and 5 days late... both were negative. I was really sick this week with the flu and am still getting over it. Can that probably have something to do with it? I am also SO Stressed that I am thinking it will never come unlesss i calm down. What is wierd is that I have had cramps for about 4 days but then they stopped. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am in the same situation right now. I am 2 weeks past when my period was supposed to start and still I have no period. I just took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. I would wait another week and then call your doctor if you still have not had your period. It is possible to get a false negative because urine tests measure the amount of the preganancy hormone Hcg. There has to be enough in the urine to have a positive result. Your doctor can do a serum blood test which is accurate enough to tell when you are only 8 days pregnant. And the cramps can be caused by the uterus preparing for the baby (the implantaion of the fertilized egg into the wall of the uterus).

If you've been having protected sex annnd test with First Response I'd say you're safe.

The flu can wreak havoc on your body, so you're cycle is probably just off. If stress can mess up your period, then the flu is a shoe in lol. Temperature changes has been known to throw off my period, as well as the company I'm keeping. My period has worked it's way around to being on at the same time as others I'm around. My mom and sis in law all have ours at the same time. Check the link out..

Plus, I tested positive with a First Response 7 days BEFORE my period was due when we were trying to get pregnant. So if you're late and it's showing negative, you're most likely negative.

Relax - it happens. Once you let go and don't think about it, you will start. Same thing with trying to get pregnant. You try and try, and it doesn't happen. Then you give up and all of the sudden, you are pregnant! I will tell you this - do NOT use the Nuvo-ring (I am probably misspelling it) for birth control. My daughter got pregnant using it, and her doctor said she was their 4th patient to get pregnant using it, and they will not suggest any more of their clients use it.

This is okay. Stress is probably causing this. Emotional stress as well as physical stress from the flu will cause hormone levels to fluctuate.

Happens to me whenever I am stressed. Then it shows up late and everything is fine. If you don't get it within the next week, go to the doctor. Good luck.

there is yuor problem you are stressing over it. Once you stop stressing over it your period should come and if it does't then i suggest that you go to planned parenthood for test. But you really need to stop stressing, stress causes so many problems in women.
