* STEP 1: If the jar is new, use a triangular-tipped bottle opener to apply pressure and break the vacuum seal. Do this by placing the triangular tip underneath the lid and pulling the lid away from the jar until you pop the seal.
* STEP 2: If this doesn't work and you suspect that food is stuck in the lid, tap the lid with a wooden spoon to knock away the food.
* STEP 3: Wrap the lid in a dish towel to give your hands traction as you twist. Or put rubber bands around the lid to get a good grip. The rubber bands that hold together bunches of vegetables are ideal.
* STEP 4: If the lid still won't budge, run the lid (not the jar) under hot water for a minute. This will cause the metal lid to expand so it comes off easily.

Jacks or better is not always the right game. Drop the require
to say a pair of sixes, if it still doesn't open don't bite he has
something much better. In this event I often use a nut cracker.
Pickles are not likely to be sticky, so there is last resort.
Freeze the whole jar, careful crack the glass, cook out the
inner delicious contents, being careful to watch water boil,
and keep pan from over heating work with say a 1 cup water
to dissolve the frozen pickle pack of Peters puckers.

Two things to try. First try running the lid under hot water. This should cause it to expand & easily open. Or you can take a butter knife & hit the sides of the lide at 3-4 spots around. This also works. Enjoy your pickle.

Turn the jar upside down and pound on it then turn it back over and open it you may need to do it a couple of times but it will work.

Hit the bottom of the jar a couple of times, this will break the seal. You will be able to tell with each hit when the seal has been broken.

I just thwack the edge of the lid on the counter several times. Works like a charm.

Put a rubber band around the rim of the lid and then twist it off.

Poke a hole in the lid, that will release the pressure. I love pickles!
