Two things:
First, you're just paranoid about ruining your first tattoo. I was super worried about ruining my first tattoo. After the first one it got easier (hence taking the ocean experience to the extreme and swimming all the way to the bottom).
Second, your'e afraid that people will judge you based on your artwork (why what is probably a very lovely baby tiger tattoo turned into a huge clown). I actually had one guy on this forum tell me to go get another tattoo of an elf on my a**, if there was any room left, so that when I'm 50 it can sag and I'll look like the idiot that I am.

Don't worry. Not all dreams are premonitions. It probably means that what the tattooist said disturbed you enough so that you were basically thinking of it while you were asleep. It's been bothering you in the back of your mind. The fact that you had a different tattoo when you surfaced is interesting. You described not just a clown, but a "huge, evil clown". That represents the "bad things" the tattooist talked about. Just be happy that it's winter and that he didn't include showers as places you weren't supposed to go into. Though really, I wouldn't take it seriously.

You become the tattoo. Observe what you are thinking as the tattoo. Become the ocean. Observe your thoughts as an ocean. Become the tiger, and then the clown. You can make some sense out of your dreams by becoming a part or parts of your dream, as in every character. For instance, I dreamed I was walking through a tunnel over a cracked sidewalk, I went up the stairs and met the mother of five little children hanging onto their mom. They were poorly. I became the sidewalk. I felt I was being walked on. I became this mom and I was overwhelmed with responsibility. I became the children, looking out at the person confronting my support system. I became the tunnel, and I was hovering over the sidewalk with all its cracks. One lady I spoke with along these lines dreamed she walked into a kitchenn where a dirty neglected stove was puffed out and ready to explode. She became the stove and declared "I am a stove. I place is in the kitche - and if I don't get some attention, I am going to explode".

Let's look at this in a couple of different ways.
1) The negative input by the tattoo artist instilled worry in you that manifested into a dream.
2) It's the occurance of the tiger and the clown. It bothers me too. It's as if you traded something good for something bad.
EDIT: Disobedience. Are you prone to disobedience? If so, you need to listen to what you are being told. I figure that you would normally go against good advice, but have a chance to re establish a behavior that you would see no harm in doing, but will cause you great pain afterwards. Be wise. Listen this time. It might actually have to do with water.

Well, since this is your new tattoo and some words from the tattoist about your tattoo. More or less, you got affected by the fact that what he told you. However, this is due to anxiety. In other words, something you wanted to have and got it, but you got warning about taking care of it.
The tiger came out from you skin only means that it is fading. there is another possibilitiy of the explaination. You may regret of having a tattoo done. However, whatever it is, you have anxiety about what you have done regarding having tattoo in your body.

Only you can uncover the meaning of your dreams because it is related to you.
Personally, I think dreams are often messages from our inner self trying to tell us something about our daily life. For me, if I see water or ocean I consider it as life because we need water for our life. 80% of our body is made up of water. Going to the bottom of the ocean could mean your are heading deep towards somewhere in your life. It could be good or bad. Only you can decide because only you know what you are doing or what is happening in your life. A tattoo or something that is attached to our body being gone or removed could mean, something being taken away from our life. Evil clown is a look. Possibly what you are doing now in your life will make you look evil even though in reality you are not. Try to relate to everything that is going on in your life now. It means you where in your last REM stage of your sleep, and your brain displayed certain images that seemed to be associated with your tattoo. It does not have some kind of symbolic meaning, like your tattoo is alive or something. It is just a normal dream, seemingly not a lucid dream, that you had like any other.

you have a fear of clowns and gaudy leg tattoos..
which in itself is not that bad.

It means there was activity in your body, and your mind attatched some images to it, some from recent events. Analyzing dreams is like analysing dirt being swept out of the door.
