what do you mean by "not attracted to"? Do you have ZERO attraction? In that case, end it now, because it ultimately isn't going to work out. SOME attraction is essential.
Or, is this someone who could grow on you? Someone who seems kind of average but there are things about him which can be attractive?
As long as you have at least some attraction, or the ability to become attracted to them over time, then, looks are really not that important. They don't have to be a 10 in your book in order to have a really good, solid, loving relationship.

I understand your question as :
You like some guy but he is not having good look. You want to date him but not want to make him a life partner and you ask whether you should do it - if it is true - my answer is as under;
1. Before you date him, please clarify that you are his friend only and do not have any other intention.
2. Dont keep him in dark.
3. Have only limited fun of dating. Set some boundary
4. And find someone to whom you can date and who is attractive too. Find permanent solution rather than sticking to the thing which is easily available.

It is definately a BAD idea. You need some attraction to make a relationship work.
I have a really great guy friend who is super but I don't feel attracted to him. He's like my brother. Several people have suggested we get together, but I know my heart won't be in it, so we have stayed friends. I know that my heart belongs to my boyfriend, who I find extremely attractive.

if you are talking about looks then you shouldnt be looking at a person for that...go for what is on the inside...dont worry about looks
