As a catholic I do not believe that communion "represents" the body and blood of Christ, but rather that the communion wafer and wine/water actually BECOME the body and blood. Before taking communion I confess my sins so that I may be a "clean" person to make myself worthy of recieving God and I do not eat before taking communion because I need no sustanance before God. By taking communion I am reaffirming my choice to accept Christ. You should not take communion if you are not doing it for your connection with God, that is to say, if you are doing it just because everyone else in your pew is doing it then don't bother because they have nothing to do with your personal commitment to Christ.

It is a re-enactment of the last supper wherein christians partake of the blood and body of christ. I have never heard of taking communion everyday, and it is not a requirement in any case. To be saved, you only have to believe and accept Jesus's finished work. You don't ahve to be baptized or take communion. You should not take communion if you are full of sinful thought. You should pray and ask forgiveness for all transgressions before taking communion. However, it is only a ritual of christian fellowship, not a command.

Communion is a representation of the last supper. It represents the death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus The wine represents his blood which was shed for many, the bread represents his body which he freely gave.

The bible just say to do this often, so some denominations do it only once a month, while others do it every Sunday, while still others do it quarterly and some twice a year on Christmas and Easter. Two pagan holidays I might add.

Each church also has their rules of who can and who cannot take it. the churches I went to took it every week and allowed the individual decide if they should take it or not.

Each church also decides if they will serve real wine or grape juice.

The wine represents Jesus' blood, shed on the cross. The bread represents his body, broken for our sins. That's about it. Taking communion is our way of remembering Jesus' sacrifice. A Christian should not take communion if she doesn't have an understanding of it. That's why the Catholics put kids through classes to take it. Catholics are also not supposed to take communion from other denominations.

A Christian who has sinned should confess to God of his sin with repentance in his contrite heart before accepting communion. Then in atonement for the or those sins the sinner takes the Body and Blood of Jesus in remembrance of Him every week in my church cuz we sin daily and have the chance to repent weekly not monthly. We tend o forget what sins we committed on a daily basis if we partook of communion once a month.

Communion doesn"t represent anything. It IS the blood and the body of Jesus Christ. A catholic must take communion at least once a year

At the Lords Supper aka The Last Supper (see Mark 14:22-26)(Matthew26:26-30) Jesus blessed and gave the bread and wine at the meal. The bread represents His body. The wine represents His blood. At the Crucifixion His body and blood were taken or given causing His death on our behalf. Jesus gave His life for us. Without giving His body and blood (causing His death) our sins could not be forgiven. It takes Jesus sacrifice (body and blood=life) on our behalf to redeem us from sin. We can't do it by ourselves. Only something, someone totally holy, sinless, righteous can satisfy God and be worthy to take the sins of all mankind away. That something or someone is Jesus. PS Can you think of other places where bread represents and maintains life??Manna for the children of Israel. In the Lords prayer we say "Give us this day our daily BREAD."......Those are just two. There are others.

That depends on your denomination. Catholics believe that the communion host is transformed into the body of Christ during the sacrament of the Eucharist. Other Christian denominations don't believe in transsubstantiation so they believe it symbolizes the body of Christ but not actually it. As they are at some point in their history a breakaway from the Catholic or Orthodox Church they have kept this as part of their ceremony but not to the full extend. Ask your pastor.

the communion is a form of cannibalism by effigy. The wine represents the blood of Christ and the bread represents the body of Christ. the reason behind this is that God required blood sacrifice for all sins. previous to the death of Christ, if you sinned you were called on to make a sacrifice of blood to God for your sins. You were allowed to substitute an animal for your own blood. Make no mistake however, this was a substitution. disobeying god was punishable by death. Christ however sacrificed himself ,as a divine being, his blood was able to to serve as a substitute for all sins, past ,present ,and future. communion is about reminding those that partake in it that God demands their life for transgressions against his law,but they were spared by Christ's self sacrifice

The Last Supper and Jesus' Command that we "do this in remembrance" of Him. Jesus said: "This is My Body".

One should NOT participate in Holy Communion if they are in a state of unconfessed sin.
