Haha! I LOVE Caiques! They are so much fun. The place I bought my Greenwing Macaw from has a pair of sisters (kept in separate cages, of course) named Mia and Bella. We call them the ADD twins. LOL

Anyway, what I notice with them is that they are very, very, very active birds. Maybe try putting some sand paper in the middle of their toys, like attatching them in there with all the shiny bells and whistles. Mia likes a particular toy that has cotton rope, acryllic pieces, beads, and bells. And, she's forever rubbing her beak all over something. (Usually my hand! LOL) So, maybe if you try attaching the sandpaper to her toys...make it a fun thing.

If that doesn't work, then I would just continue taking her to the vet. Rio, my Military Macaw want's NOTHING to do with us doing his nails. And, they get sharp and it kills me. Most of the time I look like a foiled suicide attempter (ha!). So, instead of traumatizing him with me wrestling him down in a towel to do it, it's just much happier for all of us if the vet does it. That way, he hates the vet and not me. LOL

every physique advising to apply cuttlebones does not stay interior the real international. every physique questioning a cuttlebone does a job of beak trimming additionally spends too plenty time analyzing the garbage written on petshop products. Cuttlebones do not trim beaks. They arent stressful sufficient to do something. I even have 4 hundred teach budgies. None of them have cuttlebones and none of them have beak themes. stressful ( secure ) branches in an aviary or cage could do a miles greater advantageous interest than any hopes every physique has in a cuttlebone. the easy certainty is a chook that has a beak turning out to be at a quicker fee than known or in choose of trimming is a chook with a hidden well being concern. Overgrowing beaks are indicative of a liver concern often. besides going to a vet for trims, perhaps some tests to confirm the precise reason in the back of the overgrowing beak. some money spent on tests now would perhaps shop your cash interior the longrun by beak trimming. appropriate direction of action is to first discover out WHY the beak is turning out to be at a quicker fee.

I went outside and found a really rough barked tree I assessed which branch would be sturdy and cut a piece I then took it inside and inserted it in a big plant pot (this helps keep the poop contained a little too) my bird spends a lot of time on it and he picks and cuts the little branches. I haven't had any problems with the beak. Good luck
