If turbotax is telling you that you have a FEDERAL TAX DUE - then you don't get a refund, you owe the government money.

If there's a number greater than zero in "federal tax due" then you don't get a refund, you owe that amount in addition to whatever you've already paid in.

federal tax due means you owe, you dont get a refund this year, you need to check in with your employer and make sure that they are taking out the right amount, or perhaps you should take your papers to an accountant to help you you might have made a mistake in filling them out

If there is an amount in the "federal tax due" box, it means you have to PAY. You won't get a refund if there's tax due.

If it says Federal Tax Due, it means Federal Tax you owe..!!!Refund is also marked somewhere in that area..I wouldn't be to concerned with a refund if it says Federal Tax Due,,,,,,,

OK, this question made me laugh.....I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but "federal tax due" means you're not getting a refund. It means you owe the IRS the amount that's listed on the "federal tax due" line.

If you are used to getting a refund and you owe money this year, and if particularly you are trying to do your own taxes for the first time, have someone check your figures.
