NO WAY!! I think this is a great thing for you to do. AND you don't get as much peer pressure from people your age that are just friends. Friends come and friends go... but your family will always be there, so enjoy your time with them- make them the most important things in your life, and make sure when you are ready to date that you find someone that has that in common with you. Being family oriented is always a great treat of a great partner! You will be a great catch to a lucky person!

There is nothing wrong at your age with enjoying your family. You are one of a very small lucky group of people. Family orientation is very important.
In time you may find yourself drifting in another direction but still keeping family closely involved in your life. Learning to balance family and friends is hard but can be accomplished.
Once your graduate from high school and get a job or go on to college, things will shift. But your family will always be your family!

wow... that's refreshing to hear. i'm kind of like you - i don't think it's wrong for teens to feel comfortable w. fam. and enjoy being w. themm??? is it too much? depends, are you independant enough? If you have other friends and finding friends isn't an issue for you, then it's no big deal... you're just a very loving and close, "family oriented" person. On the other hand, if you find getting friends is tough & you don't have a lot in comon w. them > feel "alone" ... then maybe you're really close w. your family for support? well.. . there's many answers. but overall, i think it's wonderful that you're like that. As long as you don't keep yourself locked up at home & isolated from everything else. <3

I think that is great! My son is 17 and he hangs out with us more than he does his friends. He is focused on baseball and his grades, and a lot of his friends are more interested in parties and doing stupid things! He HAS to stay out of trouble if he wants a shot at playing college ball and that is what he lives for.
There is no such thing as being too family oriented! Your family should be the most important people in your life. They are who will ALWAYS be there for you!!!

ABSOLUTLY NOT!!!! You , if anything are more mature then average for 17!!! I'm 22 and when I look back now, if I could do it over, I would have spent as much time with my family as I could!! It is proven that children who grow up in a family that is very close, and who enjoy to spend time together, is a child who goes farther in life, and are more self-confident!!!! Enjoy your family, I'm sure your off to collage or something bigger and better in the years to come, so enjoy them.....spend time with them, and truthfully, you don't even know how many of your peers, your classmates, wish they had the family dynamic that you have!!!
Your Very Lucky!!

That's awesome that you are family oriented. We need more of that in the world today. When you get older and have a family of your own you will be a great mom because you were brought up with a good family.

There is no such thing as being too family oriented. Sometimes I wish I could spend as much time with my family. Enjoy it while you can because there will come a time when you won't be able to do those things as often as you may hope for.

I think it's SOOOOOOOOO nice that you feel so comfortable around, and want to be with, your family. Some of us didn't get treated very well at all by our parents. What you have is a very special thing. I have to wonder about the flip side though, I'm just hoping that you're not afraid to go out and be with other people? (social phobia). If you're not, then you're doing all the right stuff!

No, it's great...hopefully you have some friends outside your family too (socialization outside the home is important) but there's nothing at all wrong with enjoying spending time with your family and doing things together. It used to be quite common, but is more rare these days.

It's not wrong by any means, it's just abnormal. In today's society fewer and fewer families spend enogh time together. Most of the time parents let thier children do whatever they want which results in them growing apart. Do what you enjoy and enjoy your grandmother while you can.
