youre being completely hypocritical and an *** to the guy youre seeing. if you want your dad to respect another race, you have to show him a good example. youre just going to perpetuate his racist view by exposing him to the picture of the stereotype.

date who you want-not to teach someone a lesson. if you really care show your dad better examples of a black person. or maybe bad examples of whatever ethnicity you guys are...but youre approach is def not the best one.

you aren't wrong to disobey your parents when they are wrong. At the same time, you've got to realize that you are doomed to failure when it comes to teaching your dad a lesson. This won't teach him anything. You say that this guy is a negative stereotype of a black person? In other words, the negative things that some people associate with black people, in this case are true about him? Well then maybe you should reconsider dating him. Especially if you are only dating him in reaction against your dad. Whoever you date, you should be dating good people because you really like them, regardless of race and regardless of parental attitudes. Any other reasons for dating are wrong.

Dating a person just because you want to teach someone a lesson or make them mad is very very wrong. What is the person going to think about you when he finds out? he will feel used, and will get the wrong opinion about you, cuz you might be a very nice person. Good luck, I hope all works out for you.

and tell your dad about many black people who made history and that the color of your skin doesn't tell a person what she/he can do in life.

you're just reinforcing his racist ideas about black people. the reason he doesn't like black people (apart from being a ****) is probably because he's ignorant, and his only experiance of black people is from the media. this 'negative stereotype of a black person' is probably amongst the few black people he's ever known personally, and will just reassure him he's right about black people.

it's insulting enough that your only going out with him to piss off your dad, but its even more insulting that your only going out with him because he's black. if your really hell-bent on this way of pissing off your dad, I advise bringing home a really nice, decent black guy. not only will you have a great friend/boyfriend and piss off your dad, you may also get him to reconsider his racist ideas.

obviously, this is nearly as isulting to the new black guy as the old one, but you don't seem to care that much about him.

It might be in a way. I don't think it is right for your dad to tell you who to like and dislike based on a sterotype (my dad is the same way!!) But I wouldn't go out of your way to make him upset with you.

If the case were that you really cared for him, then I would say stick with him cause people cant choose who they fall in love with and I think sterotypes are one of the worst things in this world.

But dont make your Dad uneasy if you dont have to. It will just make things worse in the end cause you will enentually break up and your dad will be like "I told you so"...

Yes it is wrong. Especially if this person really cares about you. You are certainly the negative stereotype of a human ...no matter what your skin tone is.

Um, why are you asking if using a human being, and let alone, using them to make someone angry is wrong? Were you not taught the difference between right and wrong? OF COURSE IT'S WRONG.
You can't do that to people. Geez.

Try dating someone you actually like. Der.

Date the guy because you like him, not just to make your dad mad. Think about it, how is the guy going to feel, I know I wouldn't feel good about being used that way.

of course its wrong and i bet u know it too. for your dad to not like people of a different race is ignorant, but for you to date someone u don't really like is wrong too. for one your using that person and are setting them up for disappointment, and that really isn't a way to teach anyone anything...
