All software is imperfect. Some is better than others.

When a software defect (bug) is noticed because the software does not work as it should, a correction (fix) is made available to change the behavior of the software. The correction is referenced as a bugfix.
If the software is being enhanced to do something new, it is called a fix or enhancement fix.

Bugs are actually non desired behavior in system(application) and to prevent them or correct to give desired output is bugfixes.
