I am relocating, and need to have info about the better areas of the city. I heard Cameron Park in nice as well as El Dorado Hills. I was born in Carmichael. Can anyone give me specifics on these areas? I see that there are alot of apartments in my price range in and around FLorin Mall. Also some around Fulton Avenue. Does anyone know anything about Cottage Estates in zip code 95825? Thanks.

The area Florin Mall is very low rent because it is not a desirable place to live. I lived there on Bell street and there was a gun battle in our parking lot.

The rents in Carmichael are almost as low, and it is a much better place, as is Citrus Heights. Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills are very far away from downtown, but I guess it depends on where you will want to go. The commute from C P and E D is horrendous.

Your best bet is to do like we did, take a month to month rent until you see where you would like to go, and then sign a lease. I would suggest it should be near your work.

You wont want to live in the Florin area. Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills are nice but pretty expensive as is the Rocklin and Roseville area. Cirtus Heights is not as expensive as other areas and will be nicer than the Florin area.

Stay away from the Florin area.
Lots of crime.

El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park are way out past Rancho Cordova and the previous poster is correct. HELLISH commute.

I would try Roseville, Citrus Heights, Antelope for lower rent than the previous two towns as well.

Welcome! I'm in Rocklin and love it. Very family oriented.

I grew up in 95825 in the Arden/Eastern area. I had a great child hood as did my daughter.
