If your child is showing you signs that they actually know when they have to go - then you can start. Example - my son is only 14 months but whenever he poops he runs away, like into the kitchen or in a corner, squats and poops! So he knows when it is coming so I got him a little potty and whenever he does that I just stick his butt on there and he goes! He can't even talk yet but he gets the sensation he has to go and knows. Most of the time it is around 2 years old, but honestly I think that ALOT of kids get potty trained later then sooner because their parents aren't consistant with putting them on the potty or they go to daycares or different places alot and not everybody does it which is important in potty training - everybody has to help =)

I don't know. I have a girl who just turned 3 in December and she still isn't potty trained. She has ZERO interest! We have all the accessories for potty training (panties, 2 potties, books and videos about going potty etc.) She still just wants diapers! So I am just going to wait until the summer and let her run around naked and figure it out then. I don't mind the diapers, I've also got a 1 year old and the girls both wear the same size diapers so I already have to buy the diapers anyway. Maybe if my 3 yr old holds off long enough I can potty train the both together!

Most of it depends on the child. They won't cooperate until they are ready. Normally 2 - 2 1/2 y/o is a good time to start. Every child is different so you really can't say well so-and-so's child took two weeks to get potty trained, that just means that child's parents were trained in that short amount of time. It can take weeks to months to successfully potty train a child.

It depends on the child. Some are ready much earlier than others. Some are ready at 1 year, others aren't ready until 4. I suggest beginning to make the potty available and encouraging a child to sit on it before they are actually expected to "perform" so that it becomes a pleasant experience.

In my opinion, no later than three years old. I'm already starting to introduce the potty to my son who is almost a year and walking. Mind you, I have no expectations but I hope he'll be completely potty trained by two. My cousin still wasn't "ready" to potty train when he came to live with my husband and I--it was a struggle even at four teaching him to use the bathroom. I never want to change a preschoolers(!) diaper again!

The ideal age is between 2 and 3, but every child is different. When they are ready and receptive to the idea is the best time.

Whenever they are reasy usuall once they turn 2 is a good time to start. Most kids are potty trained by age three. The sooner the better right?

It depends. If your child is a good learner, start around 2-2.5 years. If your child is a little less able to grasp things quickly, start as soon as possible. Two-ish. To go to preschool, they have to be pottytrained by age two.
