I do believe in life after death. I can't believe that our mind just stops, there must be some form of existence after death, else how could we remember what we are doing now? I can't really explain it very well in words but there must have been something before for us to have consciousness and memories now. I do also believe in ghosts, I think they are unsettled spirits who haven't crossed over to the next life. This is all down to personal opinion, no one really knows whether there is life after death, or if ghosts exist, so we just have to follow our personal feelings on the matter I guess

Yes, eternity is after death - being freed from time and existing in an eternal state either in the presence of God or completely devoid of His company.

As for ghosts, humans who have died and their spirit still remains on earth. The wisest man in the world wrote:

"This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of men, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. 4 Anyone who is among the living has hope [b] —even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.

Their love, their hate
and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
in anything that happens under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 9:3-6

However, ther are lying spirits that may make themselves know to us and represent themselves as former humans. But they lie.

Neither. The whole idea of gods and ghosts has come about as result of a particular function of the brain that has enabled us to survive better. It is known as the 'intentional stance' in psychological terms. Essentially it means that we can put ourselves in the shoes of another being in order to pre-emptively guess that beings actions. In life or death situations this would give its possessor a greater advantage over those that cannot do this. A side effect of this is that people may feel that they have a separate entity in them known as the 'soul'. Humans have different versions of this function:
1. Monoist - someone who doesn't understand or feel the concept of separation of mind and body
2. Dualist (monoist in principle) someone who has the separation capability but does not believe there is a real separation only a psychological one. (left brain)
3. Dualist (believer) someone who believes that they have a separate body and mind. This particular type of person may be prone to visions, wild interpretations of coincidences, and hallucinations. This is also known as 'right brain'

Religion and the idea of ghosts and other irrational supernatural concepts is the unfortunate by-product of an evolutionary advantage.

According to Buddhist teachings, one goes through a state, after the body dies, called the "bardo" which is an intermediate state that can be quite confusing if you don't have a mind that has cultivated "calm". Allegedly lights and things are seen which can sway the mind that hasn't cultivated freedom from grasping, attachments and aversions and lead you, along with your karma, to choose a rebirth that goes according to your mind's condition.

Ghosts are a reality, some minds do not choose and just drift...

Sogyal Rinpoche's book "Tibetan Book of Living and Dying" can help you understand this better if you're curious. Also, there are many other books at various webstores via Snow Lion Publications and Wisdom pubs.

Ecclesiastes 9:5,10 shows the condition of the dead.
The dead are unconscious & await a resurrection in the future on the earth when it is restored to paradise conditions.
John 5:28,29
If the dead were alive somewhere else then there would be no need for this resurrection. Lazarus, when Jesus resurrected him, never said that he'd been anywhere else because he was unconscious (dead)
There are wicked spirits that try to fool us into thinking that the dead go somewhere else & are alive in another realm. Satan & his demons are misleading the entire inhabited earth - Revelation 12:9,10. This is one way in which they mislead people, by getting them to believe this lie.

I am sure there is something after life. ghosts or no ghosts, we all have spirits or souls and spirits do not die with the body... so they still exist when the body dies. i am not sure what kind of life that is without the body - can we travel faster or do we know if we are dead and only spirit. i hope we get all the answers after death.... but i have heard that it is a painful kind of life, coz you can not eat or sleep and you cant be seen or heard. you are still attached to the people around (your loved ones) but can not talk to them or console them... their grief makes you more sad... and i dont think that its in our capacity to leave this world - we depend on some other things for that decision... so we are kind of stuck... between this world and the other.... scary.... thats why people all want to do good things... maybe then it will become easier to bear with it.... but i really do hope - that we will get all the answers after death... for some time we can be in a state of bliss - of knowingness... do you think spirits also know about outer space and aliens as well???? whatsay???

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!
