It's me again-and I'm posting about the new Ford Escape(original post 4 hrs ago) that I'm suppossed to pick up Thursday. Well I called my sales dealer and I told him that I couldn't afford the monthly payment and that what there were giving me for my trade {KBB stated 1800 for my 98 Crhysler} 875.00 was to low. 2 hours later the sales manager called and said he wanted to "re shop" my car, stating that he would get other dealers to take a look at it and higher the price. Is this normal? Thank you to all who have previously answered-it has been so helpful.. Thank you in advance for all your answers! ;0)

They obviously don't want to lose the sale and they are willing to pay more for the car to try to keep you in the deal.

Yes this is normal. Dealerships are trying to determine how much of a profit they will be making and it is typical for them to call to if they feel they are about to lose a sale.

However even if they offer you 1800, I doubt this will reduce your payments by much, so I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish I mean 1000 more over 3 years will reduce a car payment by less than $30/month.

They are looking for a way to keep the deal together. They will come back and say that they got an extra $500 from another dealer (they didn't, they are just giving you another $500 for your trade).

Go to your credit union and get a loan, the rate they quote is the lowest rate they can offer and the dealer doesn't get a chance to mark it up and make money off your financing. It would probably be a lower rate than your dealer financing.

that's as much as the shopper to verify if there is any guarantee left. no one will tell them because of the fact no one cares. extra suitable than that, while the darn element breaks down and that they take to a dealership, friendly service man or woman will can charge for upkeep by default. No exceptions. tried theft is totally criminal in immediately's "organization atmosphere". interior the worst case-project - like an clever bmw proprietor who demands reasons - "sorry it replace into an honest mistake"...
