I think it is a kind gesture to give a gift to your finance on your engagement. So much around weddings revolves around the bride that some grooms feel left out. Whatever gift you decide upon should reflect on your husbands interest and should be something that he would feel special in receiving. I wanted my husband to have something that he could wear and think of our engagement. Since he's in the army, I bought him a Swiss Army Watch which he loved.

A posh wrapped basket containing a watch, viagra, anal lube, formal shirt, personalized whisky bottle, handcuffs, football ticket, cigar, quality foreign beer, pics of u naked in sexy positions, DVD and a romantic card written by you.
Trust me a man will like that cos it's a pack of a lot of things that shouldnt cost more than £500 and a lot of things there you can enjoy together and still keep some memories.

While you don't have to, its nice to give something back as a token. Something he can keep would be nice.
1) Neck Chain or Bracelet
2) A ring of some description
3) Something crazy like Tank Driving day out.

you need to find out what his favorite interest are, and select a gift from one of the those catagories. Something that he doesnt already have, as well as, that will have a special meaning everytime he uses it. But something that he has a GREAT interest in.

How about matching bathrobes with their names engraved on them - I did that for my husband when we got married last year and we've got them hanging in the bathroom for right after our showers - they're great!
