Beleive it or not, you can get a kidney infection by having sex. Make sure after you have sex that you go pee and clean up good as the bacteria can invade the urethra and grow into a full blown infection.

The short answer is yes....but indirectly. Sex can cause a bladder infection, if bacteria makes it into the urethra and travels to the bladder, which in many women happens frequently. If a bladder infection goes untreated, then the infection can travel along the ureters (tubes leading to the kidneys) and cause a kidney infection. If you suspect you have a bladder or kidney infection, you need to see your doctor. You will need antibiotics. Kidney infections can be very serious, so don't delay. Good luck.

Absolutely.
Well, you can get a nasty UTI that'll track up to your kidneys, especially if you do sex a lot.
It isn't necessarily because you're unhygienic, although this will certainly contribute. It can happen to people who are as careful and clean as possible, its just one of those things that happens.
Way to avoid getting it is to make sure you and your partner are both hygienic you know where, and to pee/cleanse afterwards (especially if it was.. *ahem*.. quite rough).
Although it sounds from the wording that you're asking if sex is the only cause. It's not. Many different things can cause a kidney infection.

Yes, this is possible for women and for men. When having sex, bacteria can be forced into your urethra which is a sterile environment and cause a urinary tract infection (UTI). If left untreated, the UTI can spread upward past the bladder to the kidneys. This condition must be treated with antibiotics by your doctor. The best way to keep this from happening it so make sure that you are both "clean" before having sex by washing (just water for the girl because soaps can cause yeast imbalance wich leads to yeast infection) and then urinating afterward. Avoid anal sex or use a condom/ change it if going from anus to vagina. And last but not least never, NEVER place anything into the urethra (pee hole). Hope this helps, please be careful and stay healthy. Sex can be a wonderful thing, but not if you are making yourself sick with it.

It is more likely to cause the problem in women then men.
A dirty penis can infect her vagina. The bacteria will migrate up the urethra to the bladder and then can go to kidney through the ureters.
NOT ALL Kidney infections are caused by sex.

You can get a urinary tract infection, which is referred to as Honeymoon Cystitis. During sex bacteria is forced into the opening of the urethra and then it travels up into the bladder. It is recommended that women urinate after sex to reduce this risk and drink plenty of water. Left untreated, it can indeed go into the kidneys. Although this can happen, there are lots of other ways to get it too.

that and a UTI can be caused by sex. it isn't the only reason why people get them. it is a good idea to alway go to go pee after intercourse. don't hold your pee for to long, when going pee make sure you have pee'd it all out, drink lots of fluids, blah, blah. ask you Gyno for a list of things that could cause a UTI or a kidney infection.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
