haha...thats funny that someone asked this question...I met the guy I am with now online. He is awesome! And I LOVE him so much. But you have to be careful on meeting people over the internet. I got lucky, my friend was friends with this guy and my neighbors(who I have known my whole life) know him too. so thats how I was lucky. But it turns out that we prob saw each other alot because he was always at my neighbors house. So that may help you a little bit. But plz be careful with the online dating stuff, there are sick people out there.

Def. possible. It's no more of a risk then meeting people in real life. The difference is that it's easier to lie over the internet.

You meet someone in real life, let's say. They could be a murderer, an ex-convict, rapist, lie about their age or job, etc. Now, you meet someone online and they could lie about the same exact things except it's only easier because they don't have to look you in the eyes.

How many people a day get duped by people they can see face to face? How many people get duped by people on the internet? I'm guessing the numbers are close to being the same, with the internet being a little higher.

The internet is wonderful for all sorts of endeavours.

Man is a creature of habit, which is to say the senses most people used daily, is the primary means of forming associations.

It is advisable to meet in person at some future instance by mutual agreement should the intended relationship be meant to develop life endearing qualities and implications whose seriousness lie beyond keyboards and electrons.

The caveats of caution and prudence should no more be left by the wayside as with any other face to face relationship, regardless the technology and means to relationship building and bonding.

Going on the assumption of having no prior physical presence as with the instance of neighbours and acquaintances at school, erring on the side of caution, minors under eighteen should not venture out unattended or unsupervised, which is not to say a curfew be imposed.

Minors should inform their parents of their intent and responsible parents should likewise keep, not only an eye on their childrens’ whereabouts but also their purpose or aspirations, of meeting contemporary version of penpals in person.

The internet remains an opened Pandora’s box to which no one person to date has a solution or complete understanding of implications it has on relationships at many different levels: Better safe than sorry.

Possible to fall in love over the internet? No. You need to know someone MUCH better than you can via email and/or phone for romantic love to develop.

Are some people online not psycho or liars. Absolutely. There are plenty of honest, straight-up people out there.

Yes, but it may be all a fantasy world. I think you can get acquainted this way, but you need to obtain as much info as possible about the person and then decide about meeting them in a public place. Know their full name, address etc. and then do checks for phone by using white pages. Call them at the number you find. You may find they are married or any number of other things.

yes this is very possible but there has to be complete honesty between the two in order for this to work and there has to be reality at the end which means that they have to end up meeting each other in order to find out how much of a connection there is offline as well :) :) :)
