I save attempting to communicate about that there is a distinction between atheism and secularism. Secularism believes interior the separation of church and state (i'm utilising church in a large experience the following--separation of spirit and state or separation of consciense and state in case you want). Being a secularist in basic terms signifies that the authorities does not have the right to compel someone via using state skill to believe a particular way, even if it truly is non secular or not. (some atheists don't realize this. maximum do.) in reality, i do not regard a free substitute of concepts and arguments as "shoving" something down anyones throats. at the same time as human beings enter the marketplace of concepts they ought to not anticipate to discover not something that offends them or that they disagree with (which includes religion). attempting to apply the skill of authorities to compel human beings to believe a particular way is a diverse be counted.

No, you aren't, as long as it is a discussion and not preaching. Forums, like this one, are good for exchanging ideas on religion.

However, if you knock on my door to tell me about your superstition, that's cramming. If you bring it up in every other conversation, no matter the topic, that's cramming. If you try to pass laws favoring your religion, or even religious belief in general, that's cramming. When you change money to say "In God We Trust", change the Pledge to say "Under God", push through "Faithbased Initiatives", plaster excerpts from your storybook all over government property, and censor people who say things critical of your religious supersititons, that's cramming.

No you're not, no one has to read it if they don't want to. Most of them mean that the people they meet in person like to do it.

There were several Christians in my life that spend their precious time trying to convert me, for whatever reason. They just didn't get that I just wasn't interested. I never tried to convert them out of their religion, so why is it okay for them to bother me? Just live and let live. My beliefs aren't hurting anyone.

Nope.

Just don't try to elect politicians on a faith ticket, press to change the school curriculum, or bother me at my home when I'm minding my business, and we can get on fine.

By the same token, nothing an atheist says here is cramming anything into you. That okay?

You can ask any question you want as long you are not insulting another group. When I refer to insults I'm talking about name calling and juvenile comments. If you can't make your point without resorting to childish tactics then the point probably isn't worth making.

No, we believe in freedom of religion and freedom of expression, and this is a perfectly appropriate forum in which to share, discuss, and critique ideas about religion and spirituality.

No. If I don't like the topic of discussion, or what some posters have to say about it, I just leave.
