I'm a Christian and I've never once danced in my church or was on the floor. I kneel in prayer during the consecration. What church have you been in? A Baptist church? They sing a lot and get in the spiritual mood when they praise the Lord. But I've never seen people on the floor shaking. Are you sure you were in a Christian church? Maybe it was a cult.

If the Holy Spirit ever lead me to do that, I would. I'm a fool for many things - so why not for Him?

I certainly dance around like a monkey when my favorite hockey team scores a goal, when my daughter tells me good news, when my son has a good staff report, when my hubby brings me flowers. I'm a physical person.

There is a Biblical reference. In the book of Acts the believers were so noisy that people walking by thought they were drunk. They may have been jumping around.

In Zephanaiah 3:17 it says that the Lord rejoices over me with singing. "Rejoice" is a verb. Maybe He spins and dances when He sings about me (or you).

Some people aren't and they sit quietly in church. If the Lord wants me to sit quietly, I'll do that too. I do believe in order.

Am I a monkey for Jesus! You bet!
ANYTHING for Him! I adore HIM! The point is WORSHIP Him in everything I / you do.

Do I worship Him by gossiping? By being rude? By hurting people? I want my life to be worship to HIM.

Ive never ben a great dancer so as a casual observer I find little difference in most dance styles I witness in modern music. Ive never been prone to emotionalism but at the same time I can see a justification in the logic that if a person is going to have some sort of emotion what better cause than worshipping their God. In the old testemant king David got dumped on by his wife for his participating in a dance invoving himself dancing agressively in his ginch. Im not always crazy about some of the stuf I hear and without seeing it myself I am slow to draw conclusions. Now if people are doing it just for a high then I suggest they need to put God first not having an experiance. If they are putting God first and the experiance is authentic then they need not concern themselves with criticisms. And just perhaps they are unknowingly mocking their Darwininan counterparts. Anyhow I'm out of here all this talk has got me cravin bananas. As for the post by Pdkepp I wouldn't put much stalk in letting catholics interpret the bible as they seem completely comfortable adding whatever they like, and seemd to have no problem historically depriving others from the priveledge of reading the bible for themselves. Troubling is they went so far as killng those who had the audacity to translate it and make it available for regular people to read. I say this as a former Catholic and not someone who is just ripping them. Read your history and find out about people like Tyndale and others who died at the hands of Rome. Whats I don't understand is that they don't seem to have a problem with this. As far as agreement goes forst compliance is hardly equateable to unity of the faith. Where ever did Jesus suggest killing those who questioned him.

You know, I wonder the same thing and funny thing is, I'm a christian.

The last time I checked the new testament didn't have any of that kind of stuff.

They had speaking in tongues but that merely a tool to reach everyone in their own native language. Not some babble nonsense.

It comes from people getting all wrapped up in emotions and loosing control. God is not about loosing control. They say its the holy spirit but I say it is manic euphoria.

I'm not going to make a judgement on what they experience but it is not biblical.

Wow! I want to go to that church! It sounds like fun! At my church, our singing and praises makes me cry because I know in my heart that I am not worthy of my Lord. I am ashamed for my sins and for some reason I unload my tears during worship. The songs are so beautiful....Praise the Lord (shake, shake!!) !!!!! My holy spirit is loving this and it's not even Sunday!!!

The Holy Spirier courses human beings to all actuality that's our flesh and strategies that gets interior the way of the hot element the Holy Spirit is doing at that element. that's approximately Jesus not demoninations or any doctrines.

There is only one true God. He took flesh and became man only once. When man, He founded only one religion and one Church, the Roman Catholic Religion and the Roman Catholic Church.

That Church is the divinely appointed guardian of the writings divinely inspired by God, known as the Bible. This Holy Bible is like no other book, because no other book has God for its principal author.

Nevertheless the Bible is not the foundation of the Church, but the Church is the foundation of the Bible. That is why Catholics need Mother Church as the guardian and interpreter of the Bible.

Alas, Protestants have sown much confusion in the domain of Bible translations and Bible Studies, and in our own time their errors have been renewed by the pseudo-Catholics known as modernists.

With the simplicity and clarity of a Catholic Catechism, this "Catechism of the Bible" re-establishes the mind of the Catholic Church on many a vexed point. May it help many Catholics graze safely in the divine pastures of Holy Scripture.

Most Christians dont, some I believe get off on the "thrill" of acting nuts. The Holy Spirit never caused such a thing in the Bible so most Christians dont think it's the work of God but pure emotionalism and showing off.

What kind of church have you been going to, because that has never happened in a church I have been in. Oh, I have heard of strange practices at some churches (not all Christ centered churches either), but those are a small, small percentage of the larger body of Christian denominations.

I believe that this behavior has more to do with mass hysteria than actually worshiping God. The mind and body of humans is capable of producing a good many behaviors motivated by either the need to be accepted, or to show ones self as acceptable or better.

Either case, I believe that it is mostly counterfeit and from the flesh.
