I can't afford a dehydrator - can I use my oven at a low temp?

You put it on 200 and leave it slightly ajar for air circulation like in a dehydrator.

Just don't turn the oven on, your thermostat won't go down to the 95-100 degree range for what you need. You need air circulation and a 75 watt light bulb, if you try to turn your oven on low and leave the door open what will happen is the produce will "case harden", cook on the outside so to speak and stay moist on the inside and I call that first stage rotting

Is it gas or electric..????The pilot of a gas oven should be enough to dehydrate food..An electric range you might get it to go real low( 100`) but I'm not sure..Put it on low and stick a thermometer inside and see what you get...

um... i don't really know... but i don't think they're that expensive... you must really be poor...
