I see a lot of questions on here...Why do all Christians say this?...Why do all Muslims do that?...Why do all Atheists do this and that?

First thing...what is with the word "all"? Sweeping generalizations on loaded judgemental questions do nothing other than infuriate those being referenced...yet the questions keep surfacing on here. Why do we feel the need to judge?

Yes...I used "everyone" on purpose...;)

Self-cherishment, and overloaded self-concept (ego) gets in the way. When you think that you and your own opinion is the only one that's right, you're also likely to think you also have the right to foist that opinion on others because you want others to believe as you do, and some even like the idea of others seeing them as "bright" and an object to be "respected" or "worshipped". It's delusional thinking, but it's there and it runs rampant in a world where this is all SOME people know... causes and conditions.

I've learned the hearty mistake in such delusional thinking... very BAD results. It causes harm to others and suffering. May all beings find happiness that is freedom from suffering.

I think certain people feel the need to judge simple because it has become a habit & to take the focus off of themselves and to get you to thinking more about there indifference.~~Goodness, if that doesn't make sense to you, please just scrach it.
I know what I'm trying to say. Hope you do.
Some of what is being done by the word ALL and EVERYONE is just poor phrazing. Judging is wrong, just like gossip, but Hey people are ALL human and this is not a perfect world. Now that I've said this, I am going to be very careful how I word things sooooo I think it might take me longer then I thought to get to level 4. Thanks for the question !!!~~~~~~~~Jill~~USA

I personally don't belong to any religion. I believe the only way to show what kind of a person you are is by proving it. I don't like it when people tell me they are Christians and i detest it when i give someone a pound and they say God bless you to me. I know they don't mean it but think that if they say it i am going to feel special. It is human nature to find fault and it is not very nice. People should put the energy they waste by running others down to better use. Anyway thats my piece, probably has nothing to do with your question but thats it. Cheers have a great day anyway.:)))

Because everyone thinks they have the absolute answer and they are the only one who is right. They pronounce judgements in the name of to feel validated in their own cleverness.

We are all guilty of that to a degree. Some answers are right on and some are just opinion. It is those who think their opinion is fact that are usually the judgemental ones.

They need to have a Yahoo Soapbox service. It would serve that purpose a little better than questions and answers.

Because it makes our self feel much better if we judge someone else and make fun of other people who are exactly like ourselves. They don't want to point a finger at themselves and say something mean about themselves, and I don't think they mean everyone when they say all. It's hard to put a certain amount of people in a group, without saying all. It's assumption and it's wrong, ignorant, even juvenile.

It's easier for people to point the finger than to look at their own actions. I see so many generalized statements that I cringe because how can you say all of anything unless you've met them all.

a very good question - I can only guess why - I try not to generalise & use do not use 'all' or 'always' for any character traits (knowing what it's like to be called things people claim to think all Germans are)

- generalisations are never true (oops - did one)

We're not actually judging, we're stating our opinions. I also ask concealed questions of certain groups just to see if they have logical mindsets, Athiests in particularly, they do not. For that reason I feel the need to push them as far as possible.

1 Cor 6:2-3
Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
