First, I would like to thank all of you who answered my last question, for Bible verses against homosexuality. Now, after I have looked them up and read them, I have a few things to say on them. Scripures from Genisis, Duet. 1 King, and Judges 19 ( which I will not go into at this time, but it is a bad reference, it means something else) the only thing I have a problem with - since the other's were faulty, is Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, and 1 Timothy. Those were all written by the same man. Paul. It seems to me that Paul was projecting what he was to others. ( Projection is the attibuting ones own undesirabl;e traits to the other people or agencies). What if Paul was gay, and hated it so much within himself that he condemned those who are homosexual by nature? That there is, in fact, nothing wrong with being gay? Paul never did meet Jesus, and he certianly does not preach about love. Thoughts, and opinions.

Pauls vision of Jesus and actually meeting Jesus are two very different things.

I've actually wondered about the sexuality of Paul myself. Peter's is a little questionable too. What I can't stand, is that whenever Christians that oppose homosexuality argue about it, if you bring up the inconsistencies in the old testament they pull out Paul's letter to the Romans. Jesus was already gone when Paul wrote this. Paul didn't even know Jesus, they never met in physical form, their non-physical meeting is debatable. On top of that, Jesus said nothing about homosexuality, period. Not in the bible, not anywhere else.

You might want to rethink your position on Paul. According to Paul's own testimony we know that Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus and this meeting of Jesus in person was pivotal to the conversion of Paul's life from being a persecutor and murderer of those who believe in Jesus and the "Way" to being a promoter, encourager and educator of the "truth claims" that Jesus made while alive as well as understanding of the truth. realty, promises and value of living under the new covenant between God and man established by Jesus. In Paul's efforts to accomplish this he is very clear when he writes that this is his understanding so that we do not infer that this is God's position as well. If you are having an issue about being gay you might want to consider this as well. In the bible it says several times in different books that this is an unacceptable lifestyle choice according to God, not according to men. This means that you can "choose" to accept the bible as the written word of God and it is completely true or you don't believe any of it. This does not mean that we have complete and full understanding of what God is telling us. It does mean that "in our own wisdom" we cannot pick and choose what we accept to believe and what we don't. When we do this we might as well say that we don't believe the God that we say we believe in.

When you say that Paul does not "preach" about love you are right. Paul teaches us what the true and perfect love of God is so that we are able to recognize and reflect this perfect love of God in us to the world around us. In fact it is Paul that says no matter how good you are or try to be, without love it has NO value what so ever. In 1 Corinthians Paul writes the best definition of what Love is in chapter 13. Maybe you should read the bible again and ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding instead of trying to fit God's word into your own desires and understandings.

The bible is full of the truth claims of God. Man in his attempt to deny God's truths have come up with the truth claims of men. Mans truth claims never hold up to time unless they are reflective of the truths of God that do not change. This is one of the reasons that Christianity has so many denominations that are full of mans doctrines that are not supported in truth by bible doctrine. This is one of the results and dangers of picking and choosing what you accept as true or not in the bible.

Are you crazy??? (and I ask that nicely).

First, Paul was not gay. It is impossible for him to have been as anointed as He was and also live righteously if he was not saved and called by God. Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles but I do not believe that he knew just how many Gentiles he would reach. Children who are being born today and still benefiting from Paul's service to God.

I think the problem with the Church today is that we have exactly what Paul described in his letters: WSe have a form of godliness but lack the Holy Spirit's power. Most of us (myself included) have not experienced the last promise of Jesus. He promisted to send the Holy Spirit and many of us have yet to encounter Him.

Just consider this seriously: The disciples of Jesus were pretty ineffective before they received the Holy Spirit, but after the day of Pentecost, the new testament (atfer Jesus ascension) really began. We see a lot of action. We see results. We see the hand of God. This is what the church calls revival. We are mostly a dead church today who only know how to make excuses for our failures.

We have failed Jesus in many ways and it is time to stop making excuses. The bible does not condone homosexuality or lesbianism and yet we want to make excuses. Jesus said that signs and wonders will follow us as we preach the gospel. Yet that does not happen much and instead of repenting and seeking God, we make excuses with some even saying that the gifts of the Spirit expired with the early church. Do we not serve the same God? Is He not the same yesterday, today and forever? Isn't the Holy Spirit still available to us today?

The Church is in a sorry state.....but God is still faithful and I believe He will revive us again.

We should be providing deliverance to the captives - yet all we do is send them hallmark cards. We whouls be healing the sick - yet all we do is tell them to make the best of their situation. We should be feeding and clothing the hungry and poor -- yet all we do is watch them as they struggle to live another day.

The most powerful group of people in the world is the Bride of Christ. But it has no power outside of Jesus. And we have thrown Jesus out because we are not living to His standards. We should be as effective as the early church in all ways -- and probablyh even more effective than them. But where is the Hand of God in what we do? I don't see it. And as a result, Jesus is now a topic for jokesters.

But fear not: He is faithful and full of mercy and He will revive us again.

When Jesus went to heaven, God told Him to sit at His right side as God elevated Him above all else. God has promised to shake the heaven;s and the earth until all beccomes subordinate to Jesus. I believe this is coming. We shall be shaken so that we can once again see Him who sits on the throne.

The fact that Paul rebuked sinners does not make him evil. Even Jesus rebuked and whipped sinners.....and even the Holy Spirit killed Ananaias and his wife. We must understand how holy God is -- and I thnik the book of revelation gives us a glimpse into that. Unrighteousness has no place anywhere near God. Paul was full of love and he understood the importance of love in Christianity - just see 1 Corin 13:13

How many of us can say, like Paul, that we have finished our race? Many are so immature and inconsistent with God that they have not even been called yet. This is the immaturty of the Church. When the church is revived, I believe we will see miracles - including deliverance from homosexuality. That's just my take on this because that is consistent with the word of God.

Ask youself this: If Jesus healed and delivered ALL that came to Him, what would He have done with a homosexual who had no chance to inherit the Kingdom?

Don't make conclusive judgements about the church in the sorry state that it is today. Just pray and look up for the deliverance and revival of the Lord.

Paul did write about love Read 2nd Corinthians chapter 13. Incidentally when I read Paul's comments on homosexuality, he seems to be saying when we as a people or nation reject God, then God allows us to fall prey to our own desires. It isn't so much a condemnation of homosexuality as a comment on rejecting God. The letter seems to infer to me that the people he is speaking to already reject and condemn homosexuals.

You shall not commit adultery. Adultery as defined by the Bible is the breaking of the marriage covenant, with anyone before or after marriage. As marriage is defined as the joining of a man and a woman specifically, homosexuality is a form of adultery, as are all sexually perverse actions. I suggest you read 1st Corinthians 13, then decide whether Paul did not preach love, he in fact defines what it is.

First of all, your question is bit faulty.

Paul DID meet with Jesus on the Dasmascus road when he was converted from Saul to Paul. Check out the book of Acts.

Second of all before Paul became a devout Christian he was first a devout Jew and was found blameless in the sect he followed. He upheld the law when he was Saul and persecuted others according the law when they were found in violation.

Therefore it was highly UNLIKELY he was Gay.

I didn't answer your last question, but I wanted to respond to this anyway. I don't know much about Paul, I don't know much about those books. I am a Christian. I don't have a problem with gay's, I have family memebers and friends who are. I have been raised by believing that God loves everyone, and that people are the way they are because God made them that way.

Paul is a born of God Christian in heaven with Christ Jesus.

He did meet Jesus (Have you read the NT?). And he did preach of love.

A person can't be a homosexual and be born of God at the same time. Paul also operated in a strong anointing. It is imposible for those born of God to abide in sin (make it a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within. Paul also was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Obviously Paul had a problem dealing with his own sexuality while Jesus did not. How unfortunate that Christians chose to follow the teaching of Paul instead of those of Jesus.

Perhaps you need to make sure your premises are true before you draw an unwarranted conclusion. Paul did in fact meet Jesus.
