I work for Raven Tattoo Care, a tattoo aftercare product, and only hear one side of the story, people who have made tattooing their life! Big tattoos on the calves, on the shoulder, the low back - do you think they are pretty and make a girl/woman look more attractive or not? You can guess where I stand on the issue, but I am curious what the general population thinks - does this make you look differently at the person, as if they are lower class/trashy - or do you see it as something beautiful, a work of art, an expression of who the person is? Just interested in opinions.

as someone who also works in the business i get to see both opinions, and agree that both are right. There are women out there who are simply trailer trash and have a tramp stamp on their lower back simply to make people look at their *** (in my opinion most v shaped flash tribal down there is simply an arrow). I do see that as an expression of who they are, trashy.
However there are others, myself included, who have a true piece of artwork on their back. The style i have looks like the flowers are airbrushed on and people always want to touch it to see if its actually real or not. Never has anyone called it trashy. i dont see it as a personal expression of anything because i didnt get it to say ive got a tattoo there or even because i like that design more than anything in the world. It was a gift from my mentor and it was more a bonding experience than anything else. i dont think it makes me any different a person than i was before.

My view on women with tattoos is there are not enough after care products and sunscreens marketed to women with a realistic sunscreen protection factor.
I want my color to last! When I am 95 years old and mowing over flowerbeds in my electric wheelchair, I want my sleeve still blazing!
So here is a challenge to Raven Tattoo Care. Come up with an after care balm/salve/lotion whatever, that has a SPF of 45+ or
50+ even!
The popular Color Guard Stick by Tattoo Goo has only a SPF 30.
Very few tattoo products go to SPF 45+.

As long as you take the time to really think about the tattoos you are going to get, they can be really beautiful. Placement is key as well. I have 4 tattoos, and all of miine can be covered up with just jeans and a t-shirt. It's all a matter of aethetics.

i hate it when people say "a tattoo is a way to express myself" i use words to express myself. i chose to decorate my body with tattoos. it's art. not expression. i try to never judge somebody by the way they look. granted if i see someone with a rebel flag tattoo... i am probably going to think they are a racist (i live in the south and i don't buy that it's just southern pride... most people who are THAT into their southern pride are racist) anyway. i have a rather large tattoo in the works. but if you just saw me on the street you'd think that i'm a regular person. i would hate to think that i'd be judged differently in a different setting. but whatever, it's their loss not mine. as long as the tattoo is well done then all the power in the world for you and what you have.
tattoos don't make a person trashy.
even tho trashy people are allowed to have tattoos!

I think it depends on teh size and place. A small tattoo that can be covered can be cute, but i dont like big tattoos on women. I have a small one, on my lower stomach, my current boyfriend hates it, he finds tattoos on girls to be trashy, doesn't matter the size or place, but he is the only one i know of that feels that way.

I'm a woman with tattoos and I love them, people are always surprised to see them, I guess I don't look like the type who'd have them. I guess I always thought they were beautiful, and it wasn't going to be the case of if I got tattoos, but when.

Um I have tattoos myself...being a woman, I think they're beautiful...on the right spot of course. A chick with a spider tattooed on the side of her face, just say no. Its all about placement.

I love tattoos on women...just as long as the tattoos are unique, meaningful and done by a skilled artist (tribal and kanji bore me when they are done on the average Jane. I think that if its not your heratige, not a language you speak or from a place you haven't visited or lived, you should avoid getting a tattoo related to it.)

I have 15 tattoos, and I plan on getting many more.
If someone thinks that my tattoos make me seem "trashy" or if men don't like my tattoos, then they don't have to look at them.
I don't get tattoos to please anyone other than myself, and I could really care less what anyone else thinks about them!
