Some will say waffles. And they do have good waffles, and certainly no shortage of shops peddling them.
I will say steamed mussels. The Belgians themselves prefer delicious mussels over the touristy waffle.

Probably McDonalds. Outside of Belgium, though, everyone thinks of waffles.

I am not sure this qualifies as the most famous, but I know that it's pretty unusual that they put mayonnaise on their French Fries (chips).

i've only bben to belgium once...but i would say the most famous of the foods are waffels, mussels, and belgian chocolate
