I have purchased a pink chi hair dryer and the box said that it contained lead. Is that something that is not good to use if it contains lead? I seen on the other red and black ones they don't contain lead. Recently when I've been using my hair dryer it smells like burnt hair, anyone else have this problem? I was thinking about getting a hair straightener from Chi, but i'm not so sure now. I've looked into Solia brand, not sure if they are any good. I also seen that Chi only guarantees their products for 1 year, and someone said a lifetime, not sure which one? Thanks for your help!

CHi Hairdryers are no better than any other hairdryer... however... their flat irons are one of the best on the market. The smell is because your hair is probably getting stuck in the back part of the dryer and then getting burned. I don't think it has anything to do with lead. Chi products other than the flat iron are not worth the price in my opinion =)

Don't shy away from their flat irons though... they are great!

I just answered a question like this. Princess has a flat iron that is making her hair smell like it is burned. I don't know if her's is a Chi. I wouldn't think the lead could hurt you, you're not ingesting it.

You shouldn't hold the hair dryer so close to your hair, then it won't burn!
