Yes, it is safe. Keep it there no longer than 30 days. If you want to freeze it longer use aluminum foil. Be sure the plastic wrap or aluminum foil is tightly wrapped around the meat or you will have Freezer Burn.

You must have a wrap that will prevent freezer burn. Aluminum foil works only if it is really wrapped securely and never gets a hole put in it.
The plastic bags in the store are made just for this now and you can also write a date on the package. I think this is your safest way to go as you know how old it is. Just make sure you find Freezer printed on the box.

Actually, plastic wrap (Glad or otherwise) is one of the best things to use for freezing. Unlike aluminum foil, you can form a "skin-tight" seal on the food...air is what causes freezer burn and "off" flavors in frozen food.
Just make sure that when you're wrapping the meat (or whatever), you sort of "stretch" the plastic wrap around the food, to remove as much air as possible. Also, use the "heavy duty" type of wrap, to avoid little rips (or, just use 2 layers of the regular stuff).

The best & safest way to wrap meat is to wrap it in freezer paper. If you're keeping it for longer than 30 days in the freezer, double wrap it. This protects is against freezer burn, which saps all the moisture out of the meat. Don't keep meat frozen for longer than 6 months, for maximum freshness. Though many people will still keep it for up to a year, I don't recommend it, just for safety's sake. <*)))><

Safe?
Well it won't sneak out of the freezer while you sleep and try to smother you.
You can wrap it 2 or 3 times and get a good protective barrier against freezer burn

Only use plastic wrap when you will be using the food within one to two week. Other wise you could have freezer burned food.

Aluminum foil will react with any item that is wrapped it it. You must tightly wrap items to be frozen in a non reactive wrap, plastic, freezer paper, etc. not foil. Foil can be the over wrap, if you like..For instance, tomato based pruducts contain acid. Acid reacts with Aluminum and is harmful to your health..

Sort of safe. It's porous so you'll get freezer burn fast, but beware of getting plastic bits on it when you unwrap it, and it can't be defrosted in a microwave with the plastic wrap on it.

Yes.
But if it is raw meat, keep in mind that the juice / blood will most probably run out of the wrap.
It is better to buy the 'snap-lock' freezer bags that can be sealed and the excess air expelled.

Yes, as long as the meat is covered all around. Any uncovered area would have freezer burn.
