To transport pets into Germany dogs, cats and ferrets will need: to be identified by a microchip that meets ISO standards 11784/11785 or 11785 Annex A and accompanied by their owner or by a natural person responsible for the pet on behalf of the owner. The pet must have a BLUE PET PASSPORT if traveling between EU Countries or the Form EU998 if entering the EU from another country.

Avid and Home Again both can now be scanned in Europe. Its all up to you. Go to their sites and talk to them (I find most vets don't know what theyre talking about)

microchips from companies like home again and avid are supposed to internationally work. any questions you have are better directed to the usda or the german embassy and find out what their legislation is. good luck.
