I have 2 small dogs and I'm going to be getting a chihuahua for my friend but the small dogs and I know the chihuahua will not like water or water activities. So I am looking for another type of dog that will love the water. I prefer short haired dogs. Now I know that Boxers love the water because my Mom has one and I want one of my own BAD but my friend is not sure of having a large dog in the house w/ 3 other dogs so I am still researching of a smaller dog that enjoys being in the water so by the time the summer gets here I can at least have my dog enjoying time with me. Any Help?

When we had min pins, they loved to play in the water. We got them a kids swimming pool and they played in it all the time during the summer. Min pins are great dogs too. Oh I had a friend who would take her chihuahuas out on the boat when she was married. Her hubby had a boat. The chis loved to swim with their little life jackets on. So you never know.

slightly might desire to be ok. chemical ingredients might properly be drying to her fur in spite of the undeniable fact that. i'm not so beneficial that the two of those breeds are stated for swimming in spite of the undeniable fact that, on no account like a Lab. i may be truly careful if she hasn't swam earlier. make beneficial she is conscious the place the stairs are. of direction, on no account a sturdy concept to leave a canine unattended close to a pool.

Poodle or a Schnauzer. I had both and both love the water. I did know that Schnauzer were like that. I asked a question about it if you want to go into my questions and check the answers.

My Border Terrier like the water... I think most dogs are ok with it as long as you get them used to the water.
