Mere "belief" in something does not a religion make. Organized religion is much more complex and involved.

One belief doesn't make a religon. Religion is a set of beliefs that are common to many people who consider themselves members of a group based on these beliefs.

So to start a religion, first you have to come up with some beliefs. Then you have to find a bunch of people who agree with you. Then you have to name your club. After the lot of you practice these beliefs for a while, presto! A religion is born!

When it is no longer a cult and becomes a tradition. Religion is institutionalized belief.

Ugh! I would hate for my belief system to become a religion.

Religions, to me, have such a bad reputation and are just icky. (not meaning to offend anyone)

But I guess it starts whenever a whole lot of people come and it spreads like wildfire, and it gets accepted by a government.

I think the word 'religious' means doing something diligently and regularly. So if your belief is deep and steady and you live your life according to it, you must be 'religious'.
