My Husband is chartering a boat from Key West to go to the Tortuga Island. Has anyone been there?

We have heard that it takes 5 hours by boat from Key West. Is the island pretty and do very many people do this?

Are you sure that you are not talking about the Dry Tortugas? The island has an old civil war fort on it that held the doctor treated John Wilkes Boothe as a prisoner. Its has some nice reefs around it and some history to it. Unless your sailing out there with a stop at the Marquesas you're probably better off flying out there - that is unless there is some fishing in mind on part of this trip.
